TCL News: Students from St Michaels Catholic Small School visit TCL
(PRWEB) April 26, 2009 -- 'We wanted to put on an event for the students at St Michaels that helped them to understand some more about what we do. We also wanted them to see the University of Exeter and appreciate what the institution could mean to them in the future, should they want to follow education into higher learning.
The day was a lot of fun and I think everyone (including the TCL team) came away with something positive from it.'
Stewart Noakes, Chairman TCL Group Ltd
St Michaels Catholic Small School was founded in 1998 to provide a Catholic secondary education and to supplement primary provision. As a registered charity, St Michael's was determined from the beginning to share the strengths of the education it would offer with any child who needed it, regardless of the ability to pay. The school prides itself on being an inclusive and accommodating school and with a maximum of 80 pupils at any one time; it ensures that the needs of the individual are met.
TCL has been working with St Michaels Catholic Small School since 2007 and has assisted the school in streamlining it's processes in addition to sourcing new avenues of revenue and optimising it's existing budgets and expenditure.
Our involvement with St Michaels is part of our vision to have a strong and tangible commitment to the future of our industry and the community in which we work. This commitment is seen through our scholarship programmes at universities in the UK and USA along with our peer sharing events. It is also demonstrated in our support of organisations such as the NSPCC, the University of Exeter and St Michaels Small School.
'St Michaels Small School considers itself privileged to be associated with Stewart and TCL. Since our meeting in 2007 a friendship has blossomed. We have benefitted greatly from Stewarts input of help and advice and of his innovative and structured thinking.
St Michaels' visit to TCL was a great success. The students were given an insight to the world of software testing including some hands-on experience of finding 'bugs' themselves. They were looked after as if royalty. Nothing was too much trouble. The dynamic approach of TCL kept all interested, informed and involved. There can be no doubt, the students saw the tangible benefits of further/university education; some inspired enough to talk of a career in IT (maybe software testing!) Thank you Stewart, for a special day and well done to all.'
